Chair upholstery

The same fabrics are used for upholstering chairs as for other upholstered furniture: sofas, armchairs, and couches. We think it’s worth understanding the types and characteristics of upholstery fabrics. They can be artificial and natural, woven and non-woven:

1. Chenille – looks very rich. The fabric contains both artificial and natural fibers. It has a long-lasting color, soft elastic texture, and an attractive appearance for a long time. However, the material quickly absorbs moisture and takes a long time to dry.
2. Jacquard is also a half-synthetic material with a very dense weave. It does not deform during cleaning, does not fade in the sun, has a very reasonable price, and has a long service life. It is easy to clean from dirt and is a premium fabric.
3. Flock is an ideal option for a home with animals and small children. This is a non-woven material, the pile is attached to the fabric with glue. Flock can be easily cleaned even from heavy dirt; it is not afraid of animal claws. However, you should not wet it too much during cleaning and use solvents: chlorine, bleach, etc. – the pile may come off.
4. Velor – Has a very soft texture and a wealth of textures and colors. In appearance it resembles velvet, so it looks expensive at a low cost. Velour upholstery – for aristocratic salons. But you need to clean it carefully.
